The Joint venture is one of the very first multi-product and multi-fleet MROs to set up a component aircraft repair shop at the Asian hub.
Paris, Amstelveen, Singapore 06 February 2018 – Seven months after finalizing their partnership agreement, AFI KLM E&M and Sabena technics announced the opening of Singapore Component Solutions (SCS) with an official ceremony during the Singapore Airshow. The joint venture is helmed by Co-CEOs Jacques Montmayeur and Thibaut Campion. In a market where airlines traditionally turn to the OEMs, the two CEOs will co-direct one of the region’s leading multi-product and multi-fleet operators, a nimble, high-performance MRO backed by the logistics centers and regional parts inventories of their parent airlines and by their own technical expertise. Singapore Component Solutions offers fast TATs and short logistics loops delivering integrated services at competitive rates.
A complementary offer with double the capabilities :
Initially focusing on ATRs, Singapore Component Solutions has added the A320 family to its repair offering, covering a vast array of avionics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components as well structural parts and Cabin & Safety equipment. The joint venture combines the strengths of both partners to address the needs of AFI KLM E&M and Sabena technics customers throughout the region, intending also to work on new contracts with third-party customers. “This joint venture is a chance for us to build up activity and develop our repair shop,” explains Thibaut Campion. “In 2018, we will be increasing our footprint by taking over three new buildings at Seletar Aerospace Park. We also intend to double our workforce in 2018, to reach 200 staff in 2022.” A broad array of capabilities will be developed over the next three years, including the installation of a high-tech ATEC avionics test cell, Air Cycle Machine bench, pneumatic and hydraulic valve test fixtures.
Two groups, a single ambition :
